Client Service Representative
Full-time - West Des Moines, IA
Our Client Care Representatives are the backbone of what we do every day at ZipBonds. In this fast-paced role where rarely two days are the same, you will serve a crucial role in supporting our team, clients, and partners. Expect to be challenged by the unique opportunities you will be presented with each day. You will work with clients and partners across the country, helping them place and manage a variety of surety bonds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management:
- As often the first point of contact for new clients and partners, you will be expected to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients. You will work to understand their specific surety needs and providing tailored solutions as a trusted advisor.
- Product Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of our surety bond products and services, staying up to date with industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics. Be able to explain complex concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Proposal and Contract Development:
- Prepare and present surety bond proposals, quotes, and contracts to clients. Work closely with both our internal and appointed carrier underwriting teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of documents.
- Documentation Management:
- Maintain accurate records of bond applications, approvals, denials, and renewals. Ensure all documentation complies with regulatory requirements.
- Coordination:
- Liaise with internal departments and external parties to facilitate the completion of bond transactions and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Compliance:
- Ensure that all sales activities and documentation adhere to industry regulations and company policies.
- Client Relationships:
- Learn to utilize the company CRM while keeping detailed client notes for future discussions and keeping updated policy and client information as needed.
What are we looking for?

- Surety is a regulated industry and this role you will need a current property and casualty insurance license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
- No babysitting.
- Yes, we set high standards for our team, but we don’t micromanage. We also trust and empower everyone to do their best work. We expect our team to be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excel under pressure.
- Truth is some days get a little crazy and in this role, we need someone who can stay on target. The best candidates will have exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Yes, we pride ourselves on creating technology solutions that make our workflows the best in the industry, but in this role we simply need basic understanding of using CRM software and Microsoft Office knowledge.
- No degree required.
- Do we prefer a Associates or Bachelors degree for this role? The answer is maybe. While we find those with a degree often learn skills valuable for this role, we don’t rule out those without a degree. Sometimes the school of hard knocks and or relevant customer service experience are exactly what we are looking for.

- We offer a competitive salary and bonus structure. Average base compensation for this role ranges between $38,000 – $44,000 and is based on relevant experience and qualifications. We also provide bonus opportunities of up to additional $1,000 per month.

Business Development Executive
Full-time | Multiple Territories - Remote
Driven, customer-focused, and a passion for helping others are the qualities we look for in a team member. As a Surety Business Development Specialist at ZipBonds, you will play a pivotal role in our company’s long-term success. Your primary focus will be developing new business relationships and cultivating existing ones, all while providing expert guidance and solutions for our clients and partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospect and Generate Leads:
- Identify and target potential clients in various industries who require surety bonds, including contractors, attorneys, and insurance agents. Utilize market research, networking, and industry knowledge to create a robust pipeline of opportunities. Whether the leads are direct to consumer, brokered, or otherwise.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their specific surety needs and providing tailored solutions. Act as a trusted advisor and point of contact for clients.
- Product Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of our surety bond products and services, staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and market dynamics. Be able to explain complex concepts to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Proposal and Contract Development:
- Prepare and present surety bond proposals, quotes, and contracts to clients. Work closely with both our internal and appointed carrier underwriting teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of documents.
- Negotiation and Closing:
- Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to secure surety bond agreements. Close deals in a timely and efficient manner, meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.
- Market Analysis:
- Monitor industry and market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities. Provide feedback to management on market insights and potential areas for growth.
- Compliance:
- Ensure that all sales activities and documentation adhere to industry regulations and company policies.
- Client Relationships:
- Learn to utilize the company CRM while keeping detailed client notes for future discussions and keeping updated policy and client information as needed.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current P&C insurance license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days.
- Proven track record of success in surety bond sales or a related field.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
